Kwara PDP Assesses Gov Abdulrazaq Administration… Gives ‘All-Round Failure’ Verdict
Kwara State PDP on Saturday assessed the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration and gave its verdict. The party submitted that it is an ‘all–round failure’ across critical sectors of governance.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Mr Olusegun Olusola Adewara noted that the state PDP gave this verdict after the end of the meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) in Ilorin while adding that it was the SWC’s first meeting in 2026.

The PDP condemned the continued closure of schools across Kwara South and Kwara North since December, describing the decision as counterproductive and dangerous to the future of children in the state while adding that closure of schools in response to insecurity reflects leadership failure rather than a solution.
The SWC called on the state government to immediately reopen schools and instead strengthen security around educational institutions, insisting that children’s education must not be sacrificed due to government’s inability to protect lives and property.
The party also criticized Governor Abdulrazaq’s frequent absence from the state, accusing him of spending prolonged periods in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) while critical issues of insecurity and governance worsen at home. The SWC claimed that the governor’s alleged absence has created a leadership vacuum and rendered the government largely unresponsive to the plight of Kwarans.
The PDP also condemned the violent assault on elderly women who peacefully protested to demand government intervention for the release of their kidnapped relatives while describing the incident as shameful and alleging that thugs, acting as agents of government, attacked the women in the presence of police officers who allegedly failed to protect them.
The party has therefore issued a seven-day ultimatum to the governor to arrest, present to the public and prosecute those responsible for the attack, warning that failure to do this will make him accountable for their actions.
Raising further alarm, the SWC disclosed that over 22 persons were abducted across several communities in Kwara South between December 25 and early January 2026 listing the victims to include His Royal Highness, Oba Olanipekun, the Oniwo of Afin, and his son, a corps member.
The PDP expressed concern over reports that the abductors have threatened to kill either the monarch or his son if the ransom that was demanded is not paid describing the situation as evidence of worsening insecurity and a breakdown of governance.
The party urged the state government to urgently restore security, protect citizens’ rights, and end security fears in the state-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
