Saraki’s Father-In-Law, Adekunle Ojora, Dies At 93

A prominent Nigerian boardroom guru and business leader, Otunba Adekunle Ojora, is dead.

He died at his Ikoyi home in Lagos in the early hours of Wednesday after a short illness.

Otunba Adekunle Ojora, who died at 93, made a name for himself as a successful journalist, a businessman, and a boardroom guru.

After leaving the Regent Street Polytechnic, London, he became a staff of BBC and was an Assistant Editor before leaving to join the Nigerian Broadcasting Service in 1955.

He was later appointed as Information Officer, office of the Premier, Western Region, Ibadan.

Otunba Adekunle Ojora broke into the corporate world through his appointment as Public Relations Manager of the  United African Company and he was the Chairman of the Board of AGIP Nigeria Limited from 1971 to  2002.

A prince from the Ojora and Adele royal families, Otunba Adekunle Ojora was also a socialite.

 He held three important chieftaincy titles; Otunba of Lagos, Lisa of Ife and Olori Omo Oba of Lagos.

Late Aare Musulimi of Yorubaland , Alhaji Azeez Arisekola Alao, late Ooni Okunade Sijuade were among his close friends.

He attended occasions together with his wife, an ageless beauty, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora and their presence made events classy.

Otunba Ojora’s daughter, Mrs. Toyin Saraki is the wife of former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

Mrs. Toyin Saraki served as Kwara State First Lady during Dr Bukola Saraki’s governorship between 2003 and 2011.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the family has also issued a statement to announce the passing of the prominent business leader and boardroom player.
