Aishatu Binani , who is the only female APC gubernatorial candidate in the country, has had her candidacy nullified.
She had a few weeks ago, emerged as Adamawa state APC guber candidate.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the Federal High Court , Yola on Friday nullified her candidacy.
In an over three-hour judgment delivered by Justice Abdulaziz Anka , the court cited substantial evidence of non-compliance with the guidelines of the APC and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Nuhu Ribadu, who came second during the guber primary election held on 27 May 2022, had taken Binani, the APC, and INEC to court, seeking the nullification of the said primary .
He had sought Senator Binani’s disqualification on the grounds that there were vote buying and doctoring of delegates list especially in Lamurde Local Government.
The court ruled that APC candidate would not be recognized for the 2023 guber election but however noted that both the petitioner and defendants were free to appeal the ruling.
Counsels for Nuhu Ribadu and Senator Binani in their reactions said they will react after studying the ruling.- Team@orientactualmags.com
