Criticizing ALGON Members For Embarking On ‘Lawful’ Protest ‘Disappointing’, Osun APC Tells JUSUN

Criticizing ALGON Members For Embarking On ‘Lawful’ Protest ‘Disappointing’, Osun APC Tells JUSUN

Osun State APC has berated the state chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) for condemning the party’s court-reinstated local government chairmen who staged a peaceful protest to ventilate their anger and disaffection over an anomaly in the judicial sphere in the state.

Spokesman for the state APC, Chief Kola Olabisi in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com not only asserted that the ALGON members took the right decision by staging the protest but also alleged that the state JUSUN is being controlled by the government.

‘The purported state chairman of the heavily compromised Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria(JUSUN), one Idris Adedayo Adeniran, issued a statement today, condemning the constitutional right of the aggrieved local governments chairmen who showcased their belief in the rule of law through their peaceful demonstration.

It is funny that the JUSUN chairman who lost his voice during the crisis orchestrated and later bungled efforts of the state executive arm of government in the state courts could have the effrontery to be speaking on the fairness and legality of any protest.

Is the memory of Adeniran so short to have forgotten how the so-called state chapter of JUSUN connived with the executive arm of government in the state to embark on senseless strikes with cumulative number of periods amounting to one year over frivolous demands?

We, as a party, are advising the Osun State JUSUN to go back to their sponsor(s) that this inglorious route they have chosen is unprofitable and they have only succeeded in exposing their union of grossly lacking in the required attributes to function as an effective, responsive and respectable labour union.

It is only someone who cannot see beyond his nose that would not know that the Osun State JUSUN has been doing the bidding of Governor Ademola Adeleke which is utterly dangerous to what should ideally be the vision and mission of the labour union in a saner society as opposed to the jungle which the state has been sentenced to in the past three years.

Why, for God sake, is it too difficult for the Osun State JUSUN and its compromised leaders to know that, under our constitution, a peaceful protest, is allowed in any democratic environment?

We want to state unequivocally that the state JUSUN is writing unfavourable history for itself which would be the basis through which it is going to be consigned into the dustbin of history.

Why should a labour union that is worth its salt needlessly turn itself to the megaphone of the state government which is fast losing its political capital because of glaring incompetence in the public office?

The fact that the palms of a few number of the labour leaders are constantly greased by the inglorious incumbent administration in the state should not be the reason why the compromised union leaders should be exposing other credible members of the union to avoidable ridicule’ he said.

The statement also noted that discerning members of society know that the choice of the peaceful protest adopted and staged by the reinstated local government chairmen was not only lawful but glaringly constitutional.

‘The Osun State JUSUN should go and put its house in order by dumping the toga of being an accomplice of the embattled state governor in his fruitless efforts to unlawfully rock the state judiciary before making itself the unmerited policeman of society.

One is left panting when the self-acclaimed state leadership of the JUSUN rushed to the press over a very lawful and peaceful protest but the same JUSUN slept for years over the deplorable state of the premises of the court across the state.

The attention-seeking JUSUN was nowhere to be found when a Magistrate is rubbishing the rule of law by overruling a Supreme Court and a High Court order all to achieve a certain gain best known to the Magistrate alone.

In all the avoidable strike the JUSUN had embarked upon in the last three years, none was done to agitate for development of the arm of government or the rule of law.

It is sad that each time the masses express their disaffection against the incompetence of the current state government, just a few self-acclaimed leadership members of an otherwise reputable JUSUN would jump out and become a mouthpiece of the executive. It is a big embarrassment to the whole state’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us? Do you want us to cover your event or programme?
