Gov Adeleke Administration Made Bad Spending Decisions, Osun People Didn’t Receive Value For N1.3 Trillion-AMBO Campaign Organization

Gov Adeleke Administration Made Bad Spending Decisions, Osun People Didn’t Receive Value For N1.3 Trillion-AMBO Campaign Organization

Osun State APC Governorship Campaign Council has condemned what it described as the reckless mismanagement of public resources by the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration while alleging that over N1 trillion in revenue has been squandered in less than three years without commensurate development across the state.

The Campaign Council in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its Head of Media and Publicity, Engineer Oluremi Omowaiye, made this known in Osogbo on Monday disclosed that while the state has enjoyed unprecedented revenue inflow, the Adeleke administration has little to show for it, accusing the government of prioritizing frivolities over meaningful development. He specifically alleged that about N92 billion had been spent on ‘wining and dining’ which he described as a gross misplacement of priorities.

He further accused the current administration in the state of concealing vital financial information from the public, particularly the reported N57.6 billion debt cancellation granted to the state by the Federal Government.

‘The people of Ọsun deserve transparency. It is unacceptable that such a huge financial relief is being hidden from public scrutiny by a government that claims to be accountable’ the statement quoted him as saying.

Engineer Omowaiye also noted that the state APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), represents a clear alternative with a vision anchored on responsible governance and people-oriented policies.

According to him, an Oyebamiji administration will focus on critical sectors such as agriculture, education, health, transportation and power generation noting that with the recent decentralization of electricity generation and distribution by the National Assembly, state governments now have the constitutional backing to generate and improve electricity supply within their respective domains.

‘This is a major opportunity that Oyebamiji will leverage to transform Ọsun’s power sector, stimulate industrial growth and improve the quality of life of our people’ he said.

The APC guber candidate, the statement further noted, plans to reintroduce the car loan scheme for civil servants and revive the food support programme that have been discontinued by the current administration. He added that Asiwaju Oyebamiji will prioritize housing development for workers and promote mortgage schemes to make home ownership accessible to citizens.

He noted that the immediate past APC administration under former governor Adegboyega Oyetola constructed 30 housing units for medical doctors at the State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro—an achievement that the current government has failed to replicate despite receiving far higher revenues.

Engineer Omowaiye assured that an APC-led government will be prudent in managing public resources, unlike what he described as the current administration’s pattern of reckless spending.

He also criticized the Adeleke government for allegedly awarding road construction contracts to incompetent and unqualified firms with no track record in infrastructure delivery, claiming that contracts have been handed to fertilizer distribution companies, cyber café operators and estate agents.

‘Oyebamiji will engage competent, world-class contractors to deliver durable and high-quality infrastructure projects across the state’ he said.

Engineer Omowaiye further described the Adeleke administration as a failure, alleging that it has already seen the handwriting on the wall ahead of the August governorship election, hence the decision to resort to propaganda, falsehood, and mudslinging.

The Campaign Council also set the record straight on several issues that were according to Engineer Omowaiye deliberately misrepresented by government sympathizers.

He clarified that the half-salary regime in Ọsun did not begin under Oyebamiji as Commissioner of Finance, explaining that the policy started in June 2015, while Oyebamiji assumed office in May 2017—two years after its introduction. He added that within a few months of his appointment by Oyetola, he ensured that the half-salary regime ended in Osun and full payment was activated for all workers.

On the issue of alleged payroll fraud, Engineer Omowaiye explained that the audit conducted by Sally Tibbot Consulting was commissioned by the Adeleke administration in 2023, not 2022 as falsely claimed, stressing that the findings relate to the current government, not the previous one.

He also corrected what he called ‘misinformation’ in respect of  the establishment of the University of Ilesa (UNILESA), stating that it was conceived and fully established by the Oyetola administration, which ensured its inclusion in the JAMB portal and completed all necessary groundwork before the exit of the APC government.

Engineer Omowaiye further debunked claims that local government allocations are being withheld by the Federal Government, clarifying that the funds are being released to the duly elected local government chairmen.

On security, he challenged the notion that it is solely the responsibility of the Federal Government, noting that state and local governments also play crucial roles. He questioned the rationale behind the Adeleke administration’s decision to access N15 billion in security votes if it claims to have no responsibility in that regard.

He also urged the Osun State Government to come clean on the alleged N57.6 billion debt relief and called on members of the media to uphold professionalism by reporting facts rather than amplifying propaganda.

‘The people of Ọsun deserve truth, accountability, and purposeful leadership. That is what Oyebamiji represents’ he submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us? Do you want us to cover your event or programme?
