Kwara South Senate Seat: Why Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Deserves Our Support-Ridwan Balogun

Kwara South Senate Seat: Why Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Deserves Our Support-Ridwan Balogun

Ahead of the 2027 General Election and particularly, as we approach the primary elections of the ruling APC, there is a need for the residents of Kwara South senatorial district to ensure that their choice of representative in the senate is a product of a well-thought-out decision.

This decision will play a decisive role in shaping our senatorial district’s future cognizant that our people are currently facing unprecedented challenges.

As the APC members prepare to make an important choice about the senatorial district’s future, we must support a person with empathy, and a strategic thinker, who has for years now shown dedication to solving the problems of our people and communities.

We need to support a candidate with a strong philanthropic background who we can easily connect his   past altruistic actions to future leadership qualities.

Our senatorial district needs a person whose values never waver and who had delivered real results for our people without occupying a public office.

We need a person whose candidacy is built on personal decency and public interest.

I believe strongly that the person we should rally behind is Chief Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, an aerospace engineer.

He has a proven track record and he has also been a champion for some of the most vulnerable members of our senatorial district. His past giving shows that he understands community issues and he is committed to providing long-term, and sustainable solutions.

It is instructive to note that Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi is not a seasonal or an ‘election period’ philanthropist, he had improved the lives of the people of Kwara South through several initiatives and schemes long before venturing into politics.

‘Health is wealth’, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun attached importance to physical and mental well-being of the people which is the ‘most valuable asset’, and this had given birth to the Igbomina Mobile Clinic. He not only provided money and logistical needs for the project in question but also left his base in the United States of America to monitor things and ensure that people’s health needs were met.

Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi has demonstrated his commitment to serving humanity through several initiatives which made the Elesie of Esie honour him with the chieftaincy title of Akinkanjuomo of Esie in 2012.

Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun has also continued to equip young people in Kwara South with the needed skills while also creating an enabling environment for them to unlock inherent potential.

He has done this through the establishment of ENACT Innovation Hub, Ajase-Ipo, Irepodun local government.

Since coming into being in the year 2020, over 2,000 indigenes and residents of Kwara South have attended free training programmes at the innovation hub and the organization has established a strong reputation for building the capacity of the young people.

‘Oniro lo ma so pe eleri oun wa lorun’ meaning in English, ‘It is a liar who will claim that his or her witness is in heaven’,  early this year, an APC elder in Oke-Ero local government, Dr Petu Ibikunle submitted during an interactive meeting with party elders that on being informed of the need to fix a dysfunctional borehole in a community in Kwara South a few years ago, Engineer Adeyemi had immediately made N500,000 available for its repair and it has since then been a source of water for the community in question.

All the scriptures encourage human beings to repay good deeds with good deeds while an American artist and designer, Tom Sachs also said ‘the reward for good work is more work’.

When efforts seem unnoticed or unappreciated, it is natural for someone to feel weary or discouraged, recognizing altruistic efforts will therefore remind those who have done it that their labour is not in vain.

It will also make it clear to others that such efforts are not only appreciated but that they should also emulate them.

Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi is passionate about the growth and progress of Kwara South and he had long before now demonstrated this in so many ways.

He had also on two occasions in the past demonstrated that he is a true party man, he did not get party nomination but remained in APC and also worked for the success of all the party’s candidates in the two elections.

Our good people of Kwara South and members of the Kwara State APC, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi deserves our support, if not for anything, to appreciate his positive vision and tireless work.

It will also show that loyalty to the party is appreciated and this will motivate others to emulate him-Mr Ridwan Balogun writes from Offa, Kwara State
