Gov Fubara Withdrew From 2027 Rivers Guber Race To Honour ‘Important’ Agreement-Wike
Ahead of the 2027 General Election, Governor Siminalayi Fubars had a decision-switch and did not eventually seek Rivers State APC gubernatorial nomination because he had promised to leave the Government House after completing his four-year term next year, Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike, has submitted.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Mr Nyesom Wike, who said this while talking to journalists after inspecting infrastructure projects in Abuja on Monday, added that the state lawmakers agreeing to halt impeachment proceedings against the governor last year was without a quid pro quo as there was an agreement that he will not be seeking a second term in office.
‘I am not surprised that the governor withdrew. In the first place, he ought not to have obtained the nomination form, because agreement was reached that the impeachment should be dropped, while he should also not go for a second term’ he said.
He noted that the governor’s decision to obtain nomination form was not ‘signs of gentleman ship’ while adding that ‘but whatever it is, he has withdrawn and somebody has emerged’.

Recall that the governor, who had chickened out of the race after obtaining expression of interest and nomination forms, had noted that he had done this after deep reflection and extensive consultations with friends and members of his family while calling it a difficult decision. .
‘After deep reflection and extensive consultations with my family, friends, and associates, I have taken the difficult but necessary decision to withdraw from the APC governorship primary.
I do so with a full heart and with a firm commitment to support whoever emerges as the candidate of our great party’ he said.
The FCT minister asserted on Monday that the APC guber candidate , Kingsley Chinda has what it takes to run the affairs of Rivers State successfully and effectively.
‘A good product markets itself. Everybody knows that is the material.
He’s quite experienced. He has worked with the Executive and is now in the Legislature. I am sure that he must have been approached by the All Progressives Congress to join them and then get the guber nomination’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
