Wike Faction Chooses Sandy Onor As PDP Presidential Candidate As Amaechi Finds Fault With ADC Presidential Primary
Former Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi has assessed the presidential primary held by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday and submitted that it featured irregularities and deviations from the standard.
The former Rivers State governor, who made his ‘assessment outcome’ known in an X.com post on Tuesday, described the results announced by the party as ‘concocted’ while noting that he will never accept the outcome of the presidential primary because it failed to reflect fairness and transparency.
‘Following reports of widespread voter disenfranchisement in most parts of the country during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Primaries yesterday, I unequivocally reject the concocted results being announced.
I had initially stated that I would only accept the outcome of the primaries if the process was free, fair, and transparent, and I stand by my word.
I will not accept results from a process that does not reflect the values that the ADC had pledged to uphold, to rescue Nigerians from the impunity and gross mismanagement that our country is currently facing in the hands of the ruling party.
There’s no way that about eighty per cent of members of the party were not allowed to vote, and you expect me to accept such results. Then what makes us different from the others?
The whole idea of the ADC was to give the Nigerian people a platform, to amplify the voices of the downtrodden, and make Nigeria a better place for everyone irrespective of backgrounds, ethnicity, or religion’ he said.
Mr Amaechi also submitted that the ADC henceforth lacks moral right to condemn the ruling All Progressives Congress and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
‘A party that criticizes the ruling APC and INEC for vote buying, rigging and writing of results, cannot be engaged in vote buying, writing of results, and other electoral malpractices that lead to the disenfranchisement of voters who are party members. This is not acceptable’ he said.
Although the party’s national leadership is yet to formally announce the presidential primary election results, there are three presidential aspirants seeking the party’s presidential nomination; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Mr Rotimi Ameachi and an economist, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
In the meanwhile, a PDP faction that has Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed as its National Chairman has announced former senator Sandy Onor as its consensus presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The faction is headed by FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Chairman of the PDP Presidential Primaries Collation Committee, who is also a former governor of Benue State, Mr Samuel Ortom announced this during the collation and presentation of the party’s presidential primary results at the Wadata Plaza, Abuja on Tuesday.
Former senator Onor had emerged as the sole presidential aspirant after obtaining expression of interest and presidential nomination forms earlier in the month.
Mr Ortom said the committee had consulted party members across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory before arriving at the decision to choose Onor as presidential candidate.

The National Working Committee of the party led by the National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu later presented certificate of return and the party’s flags to the presidential candidate, Sandy Onor.-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
