Kwara PDP, APC Bigwigs Show Unity As Gov Abdulrazaq, Saraki, Senator Mustapha, Kawu, Other Dignitaries Attend Eid Prayer In Ilorin
Political figures in Kwara State especially those who belong to the same political party demonstrated unity at the Ilorin eid praying ground on Wednesday.
They were there to attend Eid-li-adha prayer which consists of two rakats and was presided over by the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulhameed.

Residents of Ilorin attended the eid-li-adha prayer in large numbers and it was peaceful and hitch-free.
Dignitaries at the eid praying ground include Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, former Chief Justice Of Nigeria, retired Justice Alfa Belgore, Senator Saliu Mustapha, former Speaker of the state house of assembly, Hon Ahmad Ali, former rep Moshood Mustapha, Governor Abdulrazaq’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji Razaq Jiddah, Chairman of Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Professor Shehu Raheem Adaramaja, former Vice-Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, former Non-Executive Director of NNPC, Dr. Ghali Alaaya, Dr Alimi Abdulrazaq, the Zanna of Ilorin, Engineer Lanre Shagaya, Kwara State PDP gubernatorial candidate, Engineer Sulaiman Kawu, Hon Sulaiman Warah, Hon Moshood Bakare, Hon Bamidele Aluko, Alhaji Adamu Atahiru Manko, and Professor Fatai Ayinde Aremu .






APC and PDP bigwigs demonstrated unity at the eid praying ground and made it clear that the focus should be on shared bonds while also passing a message that there have been no negative developments after their respective gubernatorial primary elections.
The Waziri of Ilorin, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who is the leader of PDP in the state, arrived in the company of the party’s guber candidate, Engineer Sulaiman Kawu, and Professor Ahmad Ali, who was one of the top contenders for the gubernatorial nomination.

What happened at the eid praying ground on Wednesday was also a proof that the state APC is not as divided as some political pundits have claimed as the leader of the party in the state, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who is the Sardauna of Ilorin and Senator Saliu Mustapha, who is the Turaki of Ilorin, not only arrived together at 9.45 am but also left together at 10.15 am after the eid prayer.


It also featured good inter-party relationship as Senator Saliu Mustapha and Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki heartily exchanged greetings.

Talking to journalists, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq asked God to make peace, unity, and progress permanent features of Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.
‘We thank Almighty Allaah for making us witness another Eid. My message is about peace, unity and progress of the country I wish us all Eidun Mubaarak’ the governor submitted while urging citizens to remain united and work for a better country.

Also speaking, Senator Saliu Mustapha congratulated Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha and prayed that God will accept it as an act of worship.
‘May Allaah accept our act of Iba’dah. May He spare our lives to witness more of it’ he said.
Emir of Ilorin, His Eminence, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari prayed for continued peace and prosperity for the state and Nigeria as a whole while urging unity among the sons and daughters of the Emirate.
In his short sermon, the Imam of Imale of Ilorin Shaykh Abdullah AbdulHameed advised the congregants to reflect and imbibe the lessons of Eid-al-Adha.
Talking to journalists, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki noted that eid-li-adha symbolizes Prophet Ibrahim’s total faith in God and complete obedience to His command.

Eid Al-Adha, he added, teaches lessons of sacrifice, gratitude, empathy, and unity.
In an interview with Team@orientactualmags.com, Alhaji Ahmed Sulu Gambari, who is the Nigerian ambassador-designate to Malaysia, emphasized the need for Muslims to uphold the tenets of Islam while also urging the rich to show compassion to the poor.
‘Eid al-Adha offers profound spiritual lessons, as a people, as a society and as a nation, we have a lot to gain from the celebration of the festival.
