I Still Love Gov Abba Yusuf, I’ll Gladly Welcome Him If He Returns To Our Group-Kwankwaso
Former governor of Kano State, who is also the national leader of Kwankwasiyya Movement, Alhaji Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso has submitted that he will readily welcome Governor Abba Yusuf if he decides to straighten relationship with him and return to the group while noting that he still loves him.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Alhaji Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso, who said this in an interview with BBC Hausa service, added that the governor took a decision to leave the Kwankwasiyah Movement and if he rethinks this decision and returns, he will not turn him away.
‘I still love Abba and I didn’t reject him, he was the one who left. So, not just Abba, if anyone who has left comes back, I won’t be unforgiving. Look at Ganduje, in the many years we worked together, we fell out several times and got back together. That is how politics works.
We picked Abba to contest under the NNPP and we won, but he left to join the people we defeated. Some say he did so because he feared losing his position, but he knows there was no way we would have been defeated in Kano. If that were the case, we would have lost when he contested under our party.
We did not choose him because he was the most senior or the most educated. We chose him because we wanted to test the strength and calibre of the Kwankwasiyya movement at that time’ he said.
The former governor also emphasized the need for leaders to be open to forgiveness.
‘As a leader, you need to have an open heart. You cannot force people to think the way you do because we all come from different backgrounds and have different perspectives. Without forgiveness, we would not have come this far’ he added.
Governor Abba Yusuf is Kwankwaso’s son-in-law and former political godson and they were together in the NNPP before the governor left the party for APC.
Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who had also left APC for ADC a few weeks ago, is currently one of the leaders of NDC while Governor Yusuf, who has remained in APC, is seeking re-election-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
