Emir of Ilorin Appoints Muhammad Dasuki As New Chief Imam Of Ilorin

A respected scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani has been appointed as the new Chief Imam Fulani of Ilorin Emirate by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.

A statement made available to Team@orentactualmags.com by the monarch’s media aide, Arowona AbdulAzeez  noted that the appointment was sequel to a rigorous selection process in which Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani emerged victorious among several distinguished scholars seeking to occupy  the prestigious religous leadership position

Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki, who is 42 years old, is the grandson of the 8th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Ibrahim Dasuki Imam Fulani Agaka, and the son of the 10th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Maliki bn Dasuki Agaka.

Sheikh Muhammad Bashir is the founder and proprietor of Darul Bisharah Arabic and Islamic Studies, Airport Egbejila, Ilorin. He also leads daily and weekly Jumu’ah prayers at Afsat Oloriegbe Memorial Mosque, Oko Olowo, Ilorin and was the presenter of the Al-Bisharah Islamic Foundation radio programme on Radio Kwara during the holy month of Ramadan.

 He teaches at Darul Kitab College of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Gaa Akanbi, Ilorin.

Sheikh Muhammad Bashir received Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Islamic Shari’ah from Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt in 2014 and he is currently pursuing his · Master’s Degree in Islamic Studies at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin.
