Gov Adeleke, Accord Party Planning To Mobilize Political Thugs To LG Secretariats-Osun APC

Gov Adeleke, Accord Party Planning To Mobilize Political Thugs To LG Secretariats-Osun APC

Osun State APC on Thursday raised the alarm and urged the state Commissioner of Police, heads of other security agencies in the state and members of the public to be on red alert and stop the ruling Accord Party from plunging the state into avoidable crisis.

The party noted that this was sequel to the support promised by Governor Ademola Adeleke for the 2025 Local Government chairmen and councilors, who are members of PDP and who the Supreme Court in its judgment had described as unknown to the law.

The aforementioned people, the party noted, are planning to invade all the local government secretariats in the state beginning from today, Friday 19th June, 2026.

APC also noted that the party has appealed the ruling delivered by the Federal High Court, Osogbo last week and emphasized the need to allow the case run its full course..

‘It will be recalled that Governor Adeleke in a statewide interview on the electronic media immediately after the judgment on Monday directed the sit-at-home local government chairmen to invade the local government secretariats the following day.

Similar illegal directive of the invasion of the local government secretariat was re-echoed by the Osun State chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, who has turned himself into the re-election campaign manager of Governor Adeleke ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

It is on record that our local government chairmen have filed a notice of appeal at the appellate court following the controversial judgment of the Federal High Court, Osogbo last week.

The acceptable constitutional standard is to allow the case to run its full course in order for Governor Adeleke who, had since decamped to the recently deregistered Accord Party not to fall foul of the law again, which was the bane of the legal conundrum currently being experienced by the governor and his cohorts.

It is the law that once an appeal and an application for stay of execution of a judgment have been filed, no party is allowed to proceed with the execution of such a judgment.

Contrary to the above legal standpoint, immediately a letter written by their lawyer to the management of the United Bank for Africa(UBA) on the local government issue was made to go viral yesterday, both the high and low members of the PDP that has transformed into the now deregistered Accord Party have started threatening fire and brimstone to storm the local government secretariats across the state’ the party submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its spokesman, Mogaji Kola Olabisi.

The state police command, the party added, should not hesitate to hold Governor Adeleke and Arapasopo responsible for any break down of law and order as a result of their support and directive to the local government chairmen, who are PDP members, to invade local government secretariats across the state.

‘It is necessary to sound this note of warning because this was how one of our Court of  Appeal reinstated chairmen, Honourable Remi Abass, the Chairman of Irewole Local Government Council with its headquarters in Ikire, was gruesomely murdered by the PDP thugs who are currently on trial in a court in Abuja sometime last year.

It will also be recalled that Governor Adeleke had sponsored a one-year shunning of work by the local government workers in the state against his own government in order to frustrate the current council executives.

It is also fresh in the memory of the discerning members of the public how Governor Adeleke aided, on two occasions, the needless judicial workers’ strike to get at the State Chief Judge without any luck.

It is based on the foregoing that we are urging the state police command and other sister security agencies to be on red alert with a view to arresting any disgruntled elements whose mission is to disturb the public peace of the state under the guise of playing dirty politics capable of plunging the state into avoidable crisis’ the statement added.

Recall that Osun State Local Governments Imbroglio that had begun in February last year has continued with those who were elected in 2022, who are APC members, and those who were elected in 2025, who are PDP members, laying claim to chairmanship and councillorship positions in the state-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
