Bauchi Assembly Member Dies After Short Illness

A member of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon Wanzam Mohammed Zaki has died after a short illness.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Zaki, who until his death on Sunday represented Sakwa Constituency in the state house of assembly, was also the Chairman of Committee on Budget and Appropriation.

Speaker Abubakar Y. Sulaiman, who announced Zaki’s death in a statement signed by his spokesman, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, described the late lawmaker as a committed public servant who served his constituency and the state to the best of his ability.

‘Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Sakwa Constituency, Hon. Mohammad Wanzam’ he said.

The Islamic funeral prayer (Salatul Janazah) was held for the deceased lawmaker at the Gwallaga Juma’at Mosque in Bauchi on Sunday.

Governor Bala Mohammed has also mourned the passing of Hon Zaki who he described as a dedicated lawmaker, humble leader, and committed public servant whose life was characterised by simplicity and commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the development of Bauchi State.

The governor in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado noted that the state lawmaker distinguished himself through diligence, maturity, and patriotism, particularly in his role as Chairman of the House Committee on Budget and Appropriation.
