Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Isin/Irepodun APC Reps Nomination: Group Picks Holes In Ganiyu Abolarin’s ‘Rotation Principle’ Violation Arguments
A group, the Amalgamated Stakeholders of Ekiti/ Oke-ero/ Isin/ Irepodun Federal Constituency has reacted to the assertions made by a member of Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Gabriel Ganiyu Abolarin in respect of the outcome of the APC primary election in the federal constituency.
Apart from picking holes in Abolarinwa’s arguments that the choice of Rep Tunji Olawuyi as the party’s candidate violated the ‘rotation agreement’ for the two blocs in the federal constituency; Ekiti and Igbomina, the group in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com Mr Adeboye Olanrewaju also submitted that the state lawmaker lacks moral right to raise such a point.
‘In his media campaign, Abolarin alleged that the emergence of Hon. Tunji Olawuyi a.k.a Ajuloopin as APC candidate for the 2027 reps election in our federal constituency breached the rotation agreement or arrangement between the Igbomina and Ekiti people in our area.
To be candid, we make bold to say that there was no agreement or arrangement to this effect as the two sub-ethnic groups have always been intertwined and existed as brothers and sisters for ages.
One question a discerning mind will ask is when, where did the two sub-ethnic groups agree on the ugly rotation agreement?
Was there any documentary evidence to back it or any gentleman agreement whatsoever?
Who were the signatories of the said documents?
Hon. Abolarin talked about equity and fairness but has he forgotten that he was the Personal Assistant to his estranged political leader and father figure in person of former Senator Simeon Suleman Ajibola who represented Kwara South Senatorial District for 12 years uninterrupted? Does he possess the moral right to criticize Hon Abdulraheem Tunji Olawuyi?
Hon Ganiyu Abolarin should not forget that it was Ajuloopin and the goodwill of Omu-Aran people that APC used as inroad to Kwara State politics in the 2018 by-election.
The figures been paraded by Abolarin is not only spurious and nugatory but contrasts to the reality of registered voters, APC members and voting strength of the constituency.
The electoral value of Hon Abdulraheem Tunji Olawuyi, his past victories as well as the level of his populist appeal have shown that he possesses the winning streak for the constituency.
We appeal to all and sundry in the constituency to work hard to ensure electoral victory once more for our ranking member of the House of Representatives and son of Igbomina/Ekiti, Hon Abdulraheem Tunji Olawuyi as it was done in the past. This will enable him use his contacts to attract more dividends of democracy to the constituents.
APC needs Hon Abdulraheem Tunji Olawuyi on the ballot paper in 2027 to ensure victory for the party again’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
