Oba Aliyu Yusuf Inaugurates Interim Exco That’ll Oversee Babanla Community Devt Association For 6 Months
Dr. Jamiyu Omotayo Anigilaje, Mallam Hamzat Lawal, Reverend Isaac Adesina Abolarin, Dr. Emmanuel Segun Alayode and five others have been sworn in as interim leaders of Babanla Community Development Association (BCDA) and they are expected to serve for six months.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Mr. Lookman Yusuf noted that the swearing-in ceremony held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Lis Hotel, Sango, was presided over by Oba of Babanla, His Royal Highness, Oba Aliyu A. Yusuf Arojojoye II.
Babanla is a town located in Ifelodun local government, Kwara State.
The statement added that the inauguration of the interim exco was sequel to the formal submission and adoption of the report of the five-man Constitution Drafting Committee which was headed by Dr. Aderemi Babatunde.
Other members of the Drafting Committee include Mallam Hamzat Lawal, Alh.Hakeem Nurudeen, Barrister Abdullateef Abdul Salam, and Mallam Ismail Sanni, who served as Secretary.
‘The meeting was attended by HRH, the Oba of Babanla, the Babanla-in-Council, together with a cross-section of representatives from all branches of the association across the country. While receiving the draft constitution, His Royal Highness expressed profound appreciation to the committee for a job well done, noting that generations yet unborn will remember them for producing the historic document.
Earlier, Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee, Dr. Aderemi Babatunde had talked about what it took members of the committee to produce the document in question.
Thereafter, a nine-member Transition Implementation Committee was constituted to manage the affairs of the association for the next six months, pending the election of new members of the National Executive. The Committee is also tasked with coming up with modalities for the elections.
Members of the Transition Implementation Committee are:

– Rev. (Dr.) Isaac Adesina Abolarin – Secretary
– Dr. Emmanuel Segun Alayode – Financial Secretary
– Mr. Nurudeen Alabi – Treasurer
– Mr. Lookman Yusuf – Public Relations Officer
– Mr. Moruf Musa – Auditor
– Mr. Gafar Anigilaje – Ex-Officio I
– Mr. Ismaila Alabi – Ex-Officio II’ the statement said.
Giving his speech, Oba Aliyu A. Yusuf Arojojoye II urged members of all branches of the association to extend full cooperation and support to the committee to enable it achieve impactful results and ensure continued positive progress of the Babanla community.
The monarch urged everyone to henceforth desist from spreading false and negative information about the community, stressing that such actions not only demarket Babanla but also inflict incalculable damage on its good name. He particularly emphasized that the issue of banditry is a national menace which the Federal and State Governments are taking every necessary step to contain.
Oba Aliyu A. Yusuf Arojojoye II also seized the opportunity to thank the Federal and State Governments for all the measures taken thus far to restore peace and security in Babanla while expressing the hope that every effort will be made to effectively root out the remnants of the criminals from the adjoining forests around Babanla and Ile-Ire -Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
