Kwara APC Reps Candidate Qawiy Olododo Says He’ll Create Meaningful Impact Through Orange Economy

Kwara APC Reps Candidate Qawiy Olododo Says He’ll Create Meaningful Impact Through Orange Economy

Ilorin East/Ilorin South APC reps candidate, Engineer Abdulqawiy Olododo said he has an economic development plan that focuses on local job creation and community revitalization through investments in both the orange economy and the blue economy adding that this will serve as a platform to impact his constituents if elected as their representative next year.

He added that his targeted impact will be achieved through expansion of digital arts, local media, and cultural tourism to provide alternative revenue streams and entrepreneurship opportunities for residents of his constituency especially the young people.

Team@orientactualmags.com reports that Engineer Abdulqawiy Oododo, who said this at the Kwara Tabloid Leadership Development Roundtable held in GRA, Ilorin, on Friday, also added that implementation strategies are already in place.

Submitting that he will like to be a catalyst that will ignite something different and ideas that may be hard to accept, the APC reps candidate added that he is religiously committed to impacting people’s lives.

Commending the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration for establishing the Sugar Film Factory and the Innovation hub and touching on their plethora of benefits, Engineer Olododo also emphasized the need to have innovation hub brought to federal constituency level cognizant of its numerous advantages.

‘I have followed what has happened in all the constituencies. There are emerging opportunities in blue economy and the orange economy and there is a need for everyone to tap into it.

At the innovation hub in Ilorin, the needed infrastructure has been provided, internet and enabling environment and this offers enormous opportunities and the young people have massive chances to grow’ he said.

He cited how a lady who came from Lagos State to visit the Sugar Film Factory discovered that Special Effects (SFX) Makeup Artists were being sourced from the Centre of Excellence and she saw an opportunity in that by organizing training for Ilorin-based makeup artists which has helped in enhancing local economy.

Olododo also reacted to complaints that infrastructure projects are heavily concentrated in a single location precisely, the Ahmadu Bello Way axis of Ilorin, he explained that it is the practice in major cities of the world to have central business districts that will serve as the commercial and economic core and help to maximize efficiency, communication, and trade

He noted that discretionary considerations that made leaders locate projects in their towns in the past whether it serves the purpose or not, have resulted in dysfunctional projects.

Asserting that he never faced scandals in all the positions he has occupied, the APC reps candidate added that Governor Abdulrazaq has been a major motivating and stabilizing factor for his political career.

‘The governor has been a source of inspiration. I have worked with him closely and I know he is painstaking and he is passionate about matters that have to do with Kwara, so, if at his age he can make the needed sacrifice by investing time and energy into the development of our state, why will I not do that too? I have to also make the needed sacrifice and use my energy and time to create an enabling environment for the young people to grow because there is a little I can do as a private person’ he said.

Engineer Abdulqawiy Olododo, a former Commissioner for Works, also promised to organize quarterly town hall meetings if elected as member of the House of Representatives while noting that he had begun to make massive impact in his teenage years as the leader of Kwara State Children Parliament and later National President of the Children Parliament between 2008 and 2011.

He noted that through the Kiddies Sight Endowment Fund, free surgeries were provided for over 100 children while family court was domesticated in the state and steps were taken to stop children from hawking during school hours-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
