2027: DG Aziz Yari Says He’s Taking On Role With ‘Full Seriousness’ As President Tinubu Announces Campaign Team Members

Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, President Bola Tinubu on Saturday announced the names of members of his campaign organization.

The president, who is the APC presidential candidate, noted that he will serve as chairman of the campaign organization while Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as his deputy.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that a statement issued by the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga on Saturday noted that Senator Abdul Aziz Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State, will serve as Director-General, while Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State will serve as Secretary.

APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda will serve as Vice-Chairman II, National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman were named as Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.

President Tinubu, as chairman of the campaign organization, will work with a body of advisers comprising Chief Bisi Akande, Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, former senator Abdullahi Adamu and former senator Florence Ita-Giwa while Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Governor Mai Mala Buni will serve as deputy director-generals in the South and North zones. They will work with Senator Bamidele Opeyemi and Senator Jibril Barau.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole will serve as Deputy Director-General for mobilisation, while the president’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila was named as Deputy Director-General, administration.

Rep James Faleke, who played a key role in the party’s 2022/2023 campaign, returns as Deputy Director-General for election planning, coordination and monitoring.

Stella Okotete, Abdullahi Garba Ramat and Audu Maikori were also appointed as secretaries of the election planning directorate while Muiz Banire, SAN will lead the legal directorate as Director with Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as deputies.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, will serve as Coordinating Director, Media and Strategic Communication directorate alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu. Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka who were named as coordinating deputy directors of the directorate, while Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Temitope Ajayi, Aderonke Arabirin and Frederick Nwabufo will serve as coordinating secretaries.

Segun Dada is the Director, New Media with Solomon Arowolo as Secretary while Dele Alake, Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda will serve as spokespersons.

In the meanwhile, Senator Abdulaziz Yari has submitted that APC will earn public confidence through its record rather than ‘noise’, urging Nigerians across political divides to choose progress over division.

He also noted that he has accepted his appointment with gratitude and full seriousness.

‘I accept this responsibility with deep gratitude and full seriousness.

My sincere thanks go to President Bola Tinubu and the party for the trust placed in me, and to our party leadership for the confidence. I do not take it lightly’ he said.

The campaign will according to him be ‘a conversation with the Nigerian people in every state, every language, every faith about the future we are building together’.
