Moshood Mustapha’s Cross-Administration Influence Acknowledged As Gov Abdulrazaq Appoints Him As Amir ul Hajj

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has appointed a prominent politician and businessman, Hon Moshood Mustapha as Amiru li Hajj and leader of the state delegation to Mecca and Medinah for the 1448 AH Hajj exercise.

Muslims from across the world will perform the next Hajj in the month of May, 2027.

The 1448 AH Hajj is scheduled to take place from May 14 to May 19, 2027, corresponding to the Islamic dates of 8th to 13th Dhul-Hijjah 1448 AH.

Mr Mashood, Abdulrafiu Agboola, the Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Government House, who announced Hon Moshood Mustapha’s appointment in a statement he issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com, noted that the former federal lawmaker as the Amirul Hajj will coordinate the 1448 AH Hajj exercise along with other statutory bodies at various levels of government.

The statement called Hon Moshood Mustapha, who is popularly called MM, a seasoned entrepreneur, public servant, and community leader.

‘He is the chairman of Crystal Group of Companies, former cabinet member, and a member of the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2015.

He is an alumnus of Kwara State Polytechnic; Lagos State University; and Rome Business School (Italy)’ Mr Agboola added.

Political pundits have quickly pointed out the significance of the appointment, viewing it as a clear validation of Hon Moshood Mustapha’s cross-administration influence and enduring political relevance in Kwara State.

Interestingly, history appears to be repeating itself for the Wakilin of Ilorin.

 Political observers recalled that 16 years ago, following a brief political disagreement with the then Governor Bukola Saraki after serving as Commissioner for Agriculture, a reconciliation in 2010 led to Hon Moshood Mustapha’s appointment as  Amirul Hajj. 

That strategic breakthrough ultimately paved the way for his successful nomination and election to the House of Representatives for Ilorin West/Asa federal constituency the following year.
