Wedding Joy To Nightmare: Newlywed Couple, Groomsman Abducted In Kwara Highway Ambush
A newlywed couple, Reverend Abiodun David and Funmilayo Bamidele were abducted by gunmen alongside four others on Saturday evening, a development that sadly turned a celebratory weekend into a nightmare.
The newlywed couple and others had attended the engagement ceremony held in Eruku, Kwara State, and they had left the ancient town for Kogi State but their vehicle was ambushed along Eruku-Iyemero Road.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the driver, rather than taking Isanlu Road, took another route to drop off the groomsman and some guests in Iyamoye, Kogi State, before their vehicle was ambushed by the gunmen.
Head of Kwara State police command, Mr Adekimi Ojo, a Commissioner of Police, confirmed the incident on Sunday while disclosing that a joint rescue operation is underway.
He also noted that cops from Kwara, Kogi, and Ekiti states are working together to rescue the abductees unhurt because the incident occurred along the border communities of the three states in question.
