Continuous Voter Registration Exercise Ended July 26, Ignore Fake Online Site-INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has asked members of the public to ignore a fraudulent website falsely announcing a new nationwide online voter registration window from September 28 to October 27, 2026.

In a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Saturday,, INEC clarified that the continuous voter registration exercise officially closed earlier this year precisely, July 26, 2026.

The electoral body described the fake registration link as a phishing attempt designed to harvest sensitive personal data from unsuspecting members of the public.

‘The attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been drawn to a fraudulent website currently circulating online, falsely claiming that INEC has announced a new date for Nationwide Online Voter Registration from September 28, 2026 to October 27, 2026.

The Commission wishes to categorically inform the general public that the website below is FAKE and has no affiliation whatsoever with INEC’ the statement said.

INEC urged members of the public not to click on the link in question or submit any personal information on the website, as doing so may expose them to the risk of having their sensitive personal data harvested or misused.

Any information suggesting that a new nationwide online voter registration exercise is currently ongoing through the above-mentioned website is false’ INEC submitted while urging members of the public to remain vigilant and verify all electoral information through its official communication channels .
