Police Officer’s 19-Year-Old Son Arrested For Raping 5-Year-Old Girl In Oyo

19-year-old Bayo, whose father is a police officer, has been arrested for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl in Oyo State.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the incident occurred in the Durbar area of Oyo town on Monday.

The victim was reportedly waylaid by Bayo while returning home from where her mother had sent her to buy a recharge card.

The victim’s father, Afeez Tiamiyu, said he was at his workplace when his wife called to inform him of the incident, prompting him to rush home.

‘I was at work when my wife called to tell me that my daughter had been raped by one Bayo, who lives in our area. I quickly rushed home to find out what was happening. On getting home, we found traces of semen and bruises on the girl’s body. We asked her if she could identify who did it to her, and she said ‘yes’.

We took her to the scene of the incident, and on our way, she identified the suspect, after which he was arrested and taken to the Durbar Police Area Command in Oyo. Upon getting to the police station, we found out that the suspect’s father is also a police officer. Due to this, we noticed that some of the police officers on duty that day were trying to persuade us not to pursue the case. However, we insisted because no one is above the law. Immediately after we noticed what they were planning, we involved human rights groups, and they promised to take up the matter,” he said.

Spokesperson for the state police command, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident and noted that an investigation is underway. He also said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID)-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
