2026 Kwara South APC Primary: Dankaka Again Makes Election Denial Claims, Says She Won By Wide Margin

2026 Kwara South APC Primary: Dankaka Again Makes Election Denial Claims, Says She Won By Wide Margin

Former chairperson of Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hajia  Muheebah Dankaka has continued to dispute the official results of the 2026 Kwara South APC senate primary, claiming that she secured over 74,000 votes to defeat  Prince Lekan Adewoye.

Urging her supporters to back other APC candidates across various levels, she has however explicitly rejected Prince Adewoye’s candidacy while declaring that she has left the disputed outcome to God.

In a clear case of living in denial, her supporters are also still hopeful that she will eventually get nominated as Kwara South APC Senate candidate.

The former FCC boss has continued to reject the legitimacy of the outcome of the primary election held on May 18, 2026.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Hajia Dankaka while addressing supporters from across the seven local governments in the senatorial district on Saturday, revisited the issue and claimed that she won the primary election in question by a wide margin.

Claiming that the election was seemingly uncontested, she asserted that she had over 74,000 votes, while the runner-up got 24,000 votes. Another candidate garnered 16,000 votes, while Prince Lekan Adewoye, according to her, had 13,000 votes.

Accepting her fate and facing reality, Dankaka said she has left those who allegedly orchestrated the ‘Imo State scenario’ to God.

Recall that Hope Uzodinma, who finished in fourth place with 96,458 votes, had later gotten declared as real winner of the Imo State gubernatorial election held on March 9, 2019.

Hajia Dankaka lamented that she has repeatedly faced setbacks: noting that she missed the Senate nomination by just five votes in 2015, won the primary in 2019 only to be denied the nomination, and has once again, won clearly this time around, only to be denied party nomination.

Attempting to prove her loyalty to the party, she urged support for the APC’s presidential, gubernatorial, reps and House of Assembly candidates. However, she told her supporters to shut their doors against the senate candidate, Prince Lekan Adewoye. This may prove impracticable, given that candidates rarely campaign in isolation.

While Hajia Dankaka has apparently accepted reality, former Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Engineer Jide Usman, along with other members of her camp, showed that they are still in denial by expressing hope that the former FCC chief might still secure the Senate nomination.

They are still strangely hopeful and living in denial  despite the fact that the party has not only announced Prince Lekan Adewoye as winner of the primary election but also had his name forwarded to the electoral body which has published his name as  Kwara South APC senate candidate on two separate occasions.

Before forwarding his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Appeal Committee set up by the party to look into complaints that have to do with the senate and reps primaries had also declared Prince Lekan Adewoye’s candidacy valid-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
