Viral Announcement Promising Update On Guber Candidates In Gombe, Delta, Yobe, 3 Other States ‘Fake’-INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has described as ‘fake’, a viral announcement promising to provide an update on governorship candidates in six states; Zamfara, Gombe, Delta, Plateau, Yobe and Kano.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that INEC disclosed this in a public notice it issued on Monday.
‘The Commission wishes to categorically inform the general public that the publication is FAKE and did not originate from INEC.
The Commission further wishes to clarify that any information suggesting that INEC has issued a special announcement concerning governorship candidates in the aforementioned states is false’ the electoral body submitted.
INEC urged the public to remain vigilant and verify information that has to do with election matters through its official channels to avoid being misled by fraudulent publications.
The electoral body added that its website are inecnigeria.org, X and Instagram handles @inecnigeria, Facebook page INEC Nigeria and news portal inecnews.com.
‘For enquiries and further clarification, INEC provided its call centre number as 0700-2255-4632, short code 4632, telephone numbers 090844444333 and 09050858629, and email address iccc@inec.gov.ng’ INEC said while restating its commitment to ‘keeping the public accurately informed and urged Nigerians to obtain electoral information only through its official communication channels’
