Rep Bamidele Salam Makes History As 1st Nigerian To Serve As AFROPAC Secretary General
Rep. Bamidele Salam, who represents Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has joined an elite league of trailblazers.
He has been elected Secretary-General of the African Organisation of Public Accounts Committees (AFROPAC).
Team@orientactualmags.com reports that Rep. Salam, who commented on this achievement in a Facebook post on Thursday, thanked Speaker Tajudeen Abbas for the opportunity given to him to chair the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives while also promising to keep the vision of AFROPAC stronger and more impactful.

‘Yesterday, at the end of the conference of the African Organization of Public Accounts Committees (AFROPAC) in Accra, Ghana, I was privileged to be elected Secretary-General of the continental body.
This election is significant for many reasons. First is the fact that it is the first time Nigeria is occupying such a strategic position in the organization, which was founded in 2013. Second is the fact that it reflects an appreciation of the remarkable work my team and I in the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives, Abuja, have done to reposition this constitutional committee of the National Assembly.
While appreciating our colleagues on the African continent for the confidence reposed in our great country, Nigeria, I must also thank the Speaker of the 10th Assembly of the House of Representatives, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Tajudeen Abbas, for the opportunity given to me to chair this committee and implement our various initiatives unfettered.
I accept this new responsibility with a promise to keep the vision of AFROPAC stronger and more impactful’ he wrote-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
