Kwara Govt Continues Aggressive Waste Collections In Ilorin Metropolitan Areas
The Kwara state Ministry of Environment has sustained the tempo of its aggressive ‘garbage pickup’ in the Ilorin metropolitan areas in order to maintain and sustain a safe and clean environment in the state capital.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq’s media office noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Friday that this was in line with the directive of the governor that a safe , and clean environment should be maintained.
‘The Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Remilekun Banigbe had ordered those in charge of the Waste Management Special Intervention Trucks to team up with the commercial contractors and act with a great speed with respect to waste collections.
The trucks were seen moving from one street to another with their loaders to transport garbage that had been dumped at medians and roadsides while offloading the already filled-up roro bins and galvanized bins and this was monitored by a Principal Administrative Officer at the ministry, Mr. Moshood Ologele.
The Commissioner therefore urges residents of the state capital to always endeavor to make use of the bins that the government has provided at strategy locations and stop indiscriminate dumping of refuse’ the statement added- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
