Osun PDP Lashes Out At Institutors Of Lawsuit Seeking To Stop Adeleke’s Inauguration

Osun PDP Lashes Out At Institutors Of Lawsuit Seeking To Stop Adeleke’s Inauguration

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned  the lawsuit  instituted  by  those the party called ‘some agents of darkness’ to stop the inauguration of  Osun state Governor-elect, former Senator Ademola Adeleke on Sunday.

Describing this as an ‘evil move’  , it was also called ‘a failed distraction against the will of the people’.

The party  submitted that ‘some paid agents of destabilization’  had approached the Federal High Court, Osogbo on Friday seeking an order to stop the swearing-in ceremony scheduled to hold on Sunday, adding that  His lordship, Justice Emmanuel, ‘in his wisdom declined granting the order, adjourning the case until Tuesday to explain why they want the inauguration  ceremony to be stopped’ .

‘It  beats our  imagination  that any sound mind  can  even contemplate halting a democratic constitutional process’ , the  State Caretaker Chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle said  in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday.

He added  that ‘the greed for power is driving some defeated politicians into electoral insanity’.

‘It is perplexing and truly reprehensible to imagine a repeat of a day when officers of law will apply to destroy the product of a legitimate electoral process. It is not just sad for democracy but equally a task for the legal practitioners disciplinary council to take up.

We call on the legal disciplinary committee to summon the affected lawyers for a possible disciplinary  action. There must be a red line. To surrender oneself as a tool to destabilize democracy should warrant a disciplinary action from the bar’  he  said.

The party commended the judiciary for resisting the pressure from ‘little tyrants who hate the ballot and are prepared to truncate the will of the people’, affirming that  ‘the judiciary in this instance and others has proven to be a protector of the democratic process’.

‘We commend the amiable Chief Judge of Osun state, the judges across the bench and other officials of the bench. We must all continue to defy agents of darkness in their rabid bid to destroy our nascent democracy’  the statement concluded- Team@orientactualmags.com
