Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has asked new political appointees to show commitment to delivering good governance as clerics have also prayed for the governor to have a successful tenure.
Adeleke’s spokesman, Mr Olawale Rasheed noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday that the governor said this during the swearing in ceremony of the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye and the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Teslim Igbalaye, describing the new appointees as ‘worthy sons of Osun State’ and strong members of the ‘Imole team’ with the best interest of the state at heart.
At the event that was attended by top political and religious leaders as well as traditional rulers including the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi and Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, the Governor said his appointees will strengthen the capacity and capabilities of his administration to deliver on his five- point agenda.
‘ I urge you to brace up to meet the challenges on ground. We are hitting the ground running by addressing a lot of complications that we met on ground. It is your duty to be a team player and deploy your wealth of experience for the success of our administration’ the Governor noted.
Responding on behalf of other appointees, Hon Igbalaye assured the Governor of their readiness to support him in his strong desire to take Osun state to the Promised Land, submitting that ‘we are committed to the faithful and successful implementation of the five- point agenda’.
In another development, the Governor was hosted to an inter-faith service today at State Secretariat ,Osogbo with hundreds of civil servants jubilating , singing and dancing as they welcomed the new State Executive.
Christian and Muslim clerics took turns to pray for the Governor and the state while various interest groups adorned in various colours joined them in praising God.
Governor Adeleke ,who interacted with the civil servants directly at the occasion ,promised a government that will be favourable to the public service.
He has promised that his administration will take workers’ welfare seriously , being the Number One item on his five- point agenda as the worker’s interest and conditions of service.
