The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, has described Governor Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke as a promise keeper, disclosing that he had within his four days in office fulfilled one of the promises he had made to the Osogbo people.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Oba Oyetunji made this disclosure on Friday at the Osogbo Central Mosque where he joined Governor Adeleke in attending his first ‘Friday Prayer’ as Chief Executive of Osun state.
Governor Adeleke , the Osogbo monarch noted, has approved the citing of an agency that will focus on manufacturing of tractors in Osogbo, which he alleged that the immediate past administration in the state had frustrated.
‘Governor Adeleke is fulfilling his promises to Osogbo people already’ the prominent traditional ruler told attendees of the ‘Salatul-Jumu’ah’ , explaining that ‘three days ago, he (Adeleke) signed the approval for the citing of an important agency, which will be involved in the manufacturing of tractors in Osogbo’.
‘This was something the past administration had frustrated and when we tabled it before him (Adeleke) during the campaign period , he promised to ensure its realization and he has done this already. This is a good omen that he will be a good Governor to Osogbo and Osun state people in general’ Oba Oyetunji added.
Speaking during the Jummat service, Governor Adeleke said his administration had taken off by seeking the face of God in line with his promise during the campaign period, noting that God comes first in everything he does.
Governor Adeleke, who expressed gratitude to God for giving him victory in the guber election, and ensuring that he had a successful inauguration, said:
‘While campaigning, I used to ask people to pray for me and I told God that if I should become the Governor, the first thing I will do is to show gratitude to Him. That is exactly what I am doing here, to give thanks to Allah’.
Declaring his firm faith in God, Governor Adeleke also said : ‘I am your Governor by the grace of God’ adding that he will keep to the promises made during the campaign period.
Governor Adeleke urged religious leaders to support his administration with prayers to succeed, restating his commitment to delivering good governance to the people of Osun state.
‘This administration will be people-driven and work to make real impacts in the lives of citizens. All we can ask you; our religious leaders to do, is to support us with prayers and we will not disappoint you by God’s grace’ he said.
Earlier in his sermon, the Imam of Osogbo Central Mosque, Sheu Musa Rabiu Animashaun, had said Adeleke’s emergence as Governor of Osun State was ordained by God, who decides who would become leaders at every appointed time.
He commended Governor Adeleke’s tenacity and determination that eventually made his success possible, impressing on the Governor to keep to promises he made to God and the Osun state people.
‘You are a Governor today because you didn’t lose focus and I congratulate you for that. As your administration is taking off, I want to admonish you to keep to the promise you made with God especially with regard to serving the people well. Also, do not forget the promises you made to people who stood by you on the road to the seat’ the cleric submitted.
The Friday Prayer was attended by political bigwigs including the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Kolapo Alimi and a PDP chieftain, Alhaji Muniru Anisu -Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
