Osun Rights Alliance (ORA) has defended CP Omoyele’s appointment as Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Chief Security Officer asserting that the police officer had since been declared free from blame in respect of accusations and allegations that could have stood as a hindrance.
Responding to the publication raising questions about appropriateness of the appointment, the group in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that Omoyele was investigated by the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and was declared free from blame with regard to accusations of involvement in the killings during the political violence recorded in Ede.
The statement signed by the Convener of the group, Omolola Kareem affirmed that while the incident was unfortunate, the family had also filed a notice of discontinuance while warning political enemies not to dabble into a matter they know nothing about.
‘We submit that Omoyele is a responsible officer of the law who has a record that is umblemished.
Investigation by FCID established that he was not culpable in the killings. He is therefore at liberty to continue national service including serving as Osun state governor’s Chief Security Officer .
We also want to note that the family has resolved to take the matter out of court. This happened long ago even before the police officer was declared free from blame. The governor’s CSO therefore has no criminal indictment nor suffer any handicap that may prevent him from further national service.
We therefore condemn any campaign of calumny against a patriotic and an efficient police officer who is busy with the serious assignment of securing the state’s chief executive. We also urge members of the public to ignore agents of misinformation who are remnants of defeated forces of yesterday’ the statement said -Team@orientactualmags.com
