2 Policemen Killed In Kogi Road Ambush

Two policemen  have been killed in the line of duty in Kogi state.

They were reportedly killed by hoodlums in  a highway ambush.   The incident was recorded on Agbaja Road,  Lokoja, Kogi State in the early hours of Wednesday while the policemen were carrying out  patrol.

Team@orientactualmags.com  learned the hoodlums  , who also sustained gunshot wounds,  fled and escaped  into the bush.

Spokesman for the state police command, ,  William Aya,  a Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday. 

‘The command lost two of its personnel during a gun duel with the hoodlums as they fled before the re-enforcement team arrived at the scene of the incident.

The Commissioner of Police, Akeem A. Yusuf, immediately deployed a team of tactical operatives to the area while trailing the hoodlums to apprehend and bring them to book’ he said.

The PPRO added  that the command had ordered an investigation into the ugly incident in order to know those behind the dastardly act and bring them to justice while urging  residents of the area to assist the police with credible information on the identity of the hoodlums to enable the command  curtail their acts of criminality- Team@orientactualmags.com
