Chairman ,Kwara state APC , Prince Sunday Fagbemi disclosed on Thursday that efforts were ongoing to make former party bigwigs, who had not only left APC for other political parties but had gone further to get gubernatorial nominations of such parties, return to the APC.
PDP Guber candidate ,Alhaji Shuaib Abdulahi Yaman ,NNPP guber candidate, Professor Oba Abdulraheem , YPP Guber candidate, Alhaji Yakubu Gobir and the SDP Guber candidate , Alhaji Hakeem Lawal were members of the APC until they said ‘To your tents, oh Israel! to the party.
It will be recalled that the state APC had after recording a sweeping victory in the 2019 general election gotten factionalized, a faction of the state APC that had become known as ‘APC Loyal’ which had Alhaji Lai Mohammed and Hon Bashir Bolarinwa as ‘main leaders’ , eventually left the party for the SDP while Oba and Gobir also joined NNPP and the YPP respectively. .
While disclosing that efforts will be made to win the aforementioned guber candidates over and they will consequently forfeit their political aspirations and return to the party, he also asserted that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq will win the upcoming 2023 gubernatorial election by wide margin.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Fagbemi said this during the Press conference held by the state APC Campaign Council which was jointly presided over by the Director General, Alhaji Abdulfatahi Seriki and spokesperson for the council, Mrs. Florence Oyeyemi.
‘APC will win the gubernatorial election and other elections by wide margin. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alh Lai Mohammed is one of our leaders and he’s still part of us. He has never said that he’s no longer part of us.
He will participate in the 2023 general election with us. The closer you look, the lesser you know as it concerns APC in Kwara. Never mind, on the Election Day ,you will see that we’re going to win by wide margin than what happened in 2019. There’s no cause for alarm’ Fagbemi said -Team@orientactualmags.com
