Ilorin East Labour Party House of Assembly candidate, Hon Abdulkareem Ismail, has voluntarily forfeited his candidacy and left the party for the ruling APC.
Ismail, who cited Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s superlative performance and achievements in three and a half years, especially youth inclusion in governance, announced his defection after meeting with the state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Afees Abolore Alabi at the weekend.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Governor Abdulrazaq’s media office noted that the commissioner commended the step taken by the LP Assembly candidate while also welcoming him and hundreds of his supporters to the APC.
‘I am well convinced that truly the governor is divinely sent to Kwara in order to wipe away our tears through the democratic gains and dividends we are all experiencing in virtually every facet of our sector in the state.
The truth be told, the developmental policies, reforms, programmes, youth inclusion and women participation in governance under His Excellency using whatever form of performance measurement is second to none. The deaf and the blind are beginning to hear and see respectively’ the statement quoted him to have submitted.
Abdulkareem also promised to join hands with other progressives to ensure Governor AbdulRazaq earn victory in the upcoming guber election while appreciating Dr. Abolore for being a mentor and a unifier, describing him as a grassroots politician who is humble and smart- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
