2 Technical Colleges Receive Science Equipment Worth N140m  In Kebbi

Kebbi State Government has procured science equipment worth one hundred and forty million naira which has been made available for the use of students at two technical colleges in the state.

The government noted that this was part of efforts to improve technical education so as to impart modern technical skills to the students.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education,  Hon. Hassan Muhammad Shalla, presented the science equipment to the principal of Science College ,Bunza, Mallam Shehu Bagudu and his Zuru counterpart, Mallam Aliyu Muhammad Kele at the Abdullahi Fodio Islamic Centre, Birnin Kebbi, on Friday.

He noted that  Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu gave approval for the procurement of the science equipment after  the submission of request to him by the Ministry to modernize the workshop of the two science colleges ahead of the visit of the accreditation team from the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE.

He added that the purchase of the modern equipment would also afford students at the two colleges to be in tune with modern technical skills assuring that the items procured were of high quality that could last between five and ten years.

The Commissioner also announced that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has released  two hundred million naira out of the five hundred and forty million naira approved for the payment of WAEC fees for thirty thousand and thirty one students at secondary schools in the state.

The governor has also according to him made thirty million naira available for the purchase of chalk for schools while one hundred and sixty million naira has also been approved for the procurement of laboratory equipment for distribution to secondary schools in the state.

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education similarly announced that three thousand furniture units for classrooms have  also been delivered to the state.

Shalla said Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu also approved seventeen million naira for the refurbishment of vehicles for the inspectorate division of the ministry for an effective supervision of schools.

The Director of Science and Technical Education at the Ministry, Alhaji Hassan Ibrahim Ngaski thanked Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for placing premium on the development of education sector as shown through his prompt approval of infrastructural development and provision of teaching and learning materials to schools.
