Osun APC Commends Police For Taking Afolabi Fadahunsi Into Custody, Wants Others Arrested
Osun state APC has commended the Nigeria Police Force especially officers attached to the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon, Lagos for arresting Afolabi Fadahunsi popularly called ‘Carlos’ and taking him into custody.
Carlos, who the party alleged to have been on the payroll of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was according to the APC arrested on Saturday morning while deadly weapons including two units of Berreta guns and 56 live ammunitions were recovered from him by the FCID team before being handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Osogbo, for further investigation and prosecution.
‘Information has it that since the suspected political thugs was handed over to the officers in Osogbo, there has been rumours of the state government making efforts to circumvent the law and get the arrested hoodlum off the hook in order for him to continue to wreak havoc on the members of the opposition APC in the state.
There have been a series of coordinated attacks of innocent and perceived members of the opposition party since November 27, 2022, when Adeleke was inaugurated as the state governor, especially in Ilesa and Osogbo.
Many notable cabinet members of the last administration have also been reportedly penciled down for attacks and assassination.
Since the emergence of Adeleke as governor, the cheapest item in Osun State has been avoidable death from the hands of political thugs who have been brazenly operating under the cover of the state government.
Some of the political thugs who have been declared wanted by the police are said to have made the Ede country home of the governor a safe haven to evade arrest and take directives on their next target of attack.
The security situation in Osogbo and some other towns in the state are scary and worrisome as the police on the ground seem to be looking the other way each time such a crime is committed.
Just yesterday, a commercial motorcycle rider was beaten to death at the Kobongbogboe junction in Osogbo for having the effrontery to demand his transport fare from these political thugs who have been on the prowl across the state.
There is a recurring case of one Olalekan Ajagungbade (Emir), one of the notorious thugs in Osogbo, who enjoys the fraternization and patronization of the current Government.
Emir is said to have an unfettered access to the Adeleke country home in Ede which has emboldened him to carry out his dastardly activities in the state.
Surprisingly, Emir was not only named as a member of the Adeleke transition committee, he has also been appointed as a member of the Disciplinary Committee set up by the Osun State Government to manage motor parks in the state’ the state acting chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday.
The party commended the efforts of the police from Alagbon submitting that it was a job well done while tasking them with arresting and prosecuting other notorious criminals who have allegedly been operating unhindered in the state.
The party also demanded to know what had delayed the arrest of those it called known political criminals in the state including Bode Olakayode, ‘Bode Itaapa,’ Solomon Adefioye Adedimeji ‘Solo Iwara’ and Emir Ajagungbade ,who, the APC noted, had already been declared wanted by the police.
The statement alleged that Governor Adeleke cannot curtail the activities of the political hoodlums while adding that there had been suspicions that the police and the state government are working in cahoots to oppress, suppress and subjugate the opposition.
