Kwara : Ojulari Remanded In Custody, Case Adjourned Until Feb 21
A Magistrate has ordered that Abolaji Shaffi popularly called Ojulari should be remanded in custody.
It will be recalled that 44-year-old Safi Abolaji was arrested at the venue of the campaign rally held by the ruling APC in Ilorin, Kwara state during the weekend.
Spokesman for the police in Kwara state, Mr Ajayi Okasanmi, a Superintendent of Police, had in a statement issued in Ilorin on Monday alleged that Safi Abolaji had firearms ; two locally- made short-guns in his possession at the rally in question which was held in Ojuekun Sarumi area of Ilorin on January 29, 2023. The statement had also alleged that Safi is a member of the PDP.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Ojulari, who was brought before Magistrate Adam Mohammed of the Magistrates’ Court , Ilorin, on Tuesday has been ordered remanded in the Oke Kura correctional facility.
Investigation conducted by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Nigeria Police had revealed that Ojulari had just been released from a correctional facility after he was arrested and made to be behind bars for cult -related activities.
Ojulari is currently facing charges that include criminal conspiracy, illegal possession of firearms, being in possession of criminal charms and belonging to membership of secret society contrary to the provisions of the Penal Code Law, Firearms Act and Prohibition of Secret Cult and Secret Societies Law 2006 respectively.
Magistrate Adam ordered that Ojulari should be remanded in Oke Kura Correctional Centre while the Court awaits advice from the DPP . The case was later adjourned until 21st February, 2023 for further mention- Team@orientactualmags.com
