Asiya Ganduje Says ‘ I’m Tired Of Marriage’ As Her 16-Year-Old Marriage Ends In Divorce
An Upper Shariah Court in Kano on Thursday ended the 16-year-old marriage between Asiya Ganduje and Inuwa Uba.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Asiya , who is the daughter of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, had asked the court to dissolve the marriage because she had lost interest in continuing with the union that had produced four children.
The Presiding Judge, Khadi Halliru Aliyu , who granted the divorce, however ordered Asiya to return the N50,000 dowry to her former husband.
The court also refused to grant Uba’s request that the documents of properties that he had claimed ownership should be retrieved from Asiya.
Uba’s lawyer ,Umar I. Umar said he will study the judgment and await the next line of action from his client adding that they had tried to settle out of court and reconcile the estranged couple but that their efforts did not yield desired results- Team@orientactualmags.com
