
A significant development was recorded on Tuesday in respect of the ongoing efforts to achieve peace and end the conflict among PDP bigwigs in the country.
PDP governors led by Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State have promised to continue to present a common front and ensure unity in the party.
Governor Adeleke, who is the Chairman of Ondo State Governorship Campaign Council, told party faithful on Tuesday that the party ‘is one strong family’ adding that the leaders have met ‘to ensure unity and respect for the constitution of the party’ while urging the people of Ondo State to vote for the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Hon Ajayi Agboola in the upcoming governorship election in the state.

‘Go out and cast your votes for Agboola. PDP remains one and the only alternative for a better today and tomorrow for Ondo State people’ a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Adeleke’s Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed quoted the governor to have submitted during the campaign kickoff held by the PDP in Akure, Ondo State capital, on Tuesday.
Governorship election is scheduled to hold in the state on November 16,2024.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who also reechoed the message of unity in the PDP, asked Ondo State people to demonstrate their love for good governance by voting for the party’s candidate in the gubernatorial election.
Makinde noted that the PDP as a virile party remains the best choice for the delivery of democratic dividends to the masses of Ondo State and Nigeria in general.
The governor has also cautioned Ondo State people against vote buying.
‘I want to implore you, don’t sell your votes, this is the beginning of victory in Ondo State. INEC should play the game according to the rules. What happened in the Edo election should not happen in Ondo’ he said.
Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum ,who is also the governor of Bauchi State, , Alhaji Bala Mohammed, in his speech, declared that there is no longer schism in the PDP while calling on the public to see recent developments as a sign of a strong and dynamic political party.

Acting National Chairman of the party, Usman Damagun who spoke in Yoruba language told the crowd of PDP supporters that ‘ebi npawa, iya nje wa, edibo fun egbe PDP’ while former Ebonyi State governor , Sam Egwu urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that democracy is not truncated in Nigeria by ensuring free and fair elections across the country.
Egwu, who said Tinubu is now a father figure to all, urged him to resist the temptation to capitalize on federal power within the electoral system, emphasizing that democracy is best strengthened when people’s will is allowed to prevail.
Flanked by a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Festus Akingbaso , who is the Deputy Governorship candidate, Ondo State PDP gubernatorial candidate, Hon Agboola Ajayi, in his speech, called on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu to remove the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state citing lack of confidence in her.
