Abdulrahman Presides Over Inauguration Of New BoT At Wike’s Official Residence, Promises To End ‘Ill-Discipline’ In PDP
Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Abdulrahman Muhammad has submitted that he will end ill-discipline in the party and ensure that things are done according to the dictates of the constitution of the party.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that he said this on Friday during the inauguration of the party’s new Board of Trustees at the official residence of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike in Abuja.
He described the event as ‘a symbol of rebirth’ and the beginning of a new era of transparency and accountability in the party.
Recall that Muhammad, who was the National Vice Chairman (North Central), had gotten appointed as acting National Chairman following the suspension of Alhaji Umar Damagum by the faction led by the party’ s National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu.
Alhaji Muhammad lamented that the party has lost its moral balance due to years of internal disunity and disregard for court orders, submitting that ‘For too long, impunity became culture, and internal democracy became an afterthought. But today, we have reached the point of renewal’.
He also said intra party conflicts began in PDP when the zoning principles were ignored ahead of the 2015 elections.
‘Today marks a significant turning point in the life of the Peoples Democratic Party. We have come together, not merely to inaugurate a new Board of Trustees, but to renew our faith in the ideals that gave birth to this great political family – justice, fairness, inclusivity, and respect for the rule of law.
To the new members of the BoT, this is not a reward for loyalty; it is a sacred trust. The responsibility before you is enormous, to speak truth to power, to defend justice, and to ensure that the PDP remains a home for all Nigerians’ he said.
