Afolabi Adeniyi Appointed As Adamawa New CP As Lanre Sikiru Heads X-Squad

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba on Friday named Afolabi Babatola Adeniyi, a Commissioner of Police, as new police chief in Adamawa state.
Force PRO, Mr Olumuyiwa Adejobi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Adebola A. Hamzat has also been appointed as Commissioner of Police in charge of the Border Patrol Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The statement noted that this was done as part of the efforts to achieve maximum impact of a community-based and strategic policing on the society, adding that this was also done pending approval by the Police Service Commission.

‘Similarly, CP Lanre Bankole Sikiru, the former CP Ogun State, has been posted to head the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID) X-Squad at its Annex in Lagos State. The IGP has tasked the new CP X-Squad with deploying all requisite assets in ensuring sanity, professional standards and discipline in all ramifications..
The IGP has therefore urged the senior police officers to effectively apply their wealth of experiences to improve existing structural arrangements towards achieving a citizen-focused and a community-oriented policing system. He also called for support and cooperation from members of the public to enable the newly posted senior officers perform optimally on their mandate.
