After Being Kept In London Morgue For 3 Years, Joseph Waya’s Body Finally Arrives In Abuja

The body of  Mr. Joseph Wayas, arrived in Abuja, the federal capital territory ,on Wednesday.

His body had been kept in morgue in London since three years ago.

Wayas,  a prominent politician in the country, served as  Senate President between October 1, 1979 and December 31, 1983.

He  died in a London hospital on November 30, 2021, at the age of 80 after a prolonged illness.

His first wife had  died 12 days  later but her funeral was held without delay.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that British Airways 083  that carried  the  body of the former Senate president left  Heathrow Airport London on Wednesday and  arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at 4:40 am (Local time).

 Jarigbe Agom, Peter Akpanke, family members and friends received  Waya’s body at the airport which was again kept  in  morgue at the National Hospital, Abuja.

Jarigbe thanked the Governor of Cross River state, Bassey Otu for facilitating the transportation  of the late former Senate President’s body from London, adding that he is confident that the governor will give the former elder statesman a befitting burial.

Prominent  Nigerians including  Senator Eteng Jonah Williams, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo, Jonny Agim, SAN, and Hon.
