The Court of Appeal, Abuja, on Tuesday, upheld the decision of National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal that had earlier annulled Senator Abubakar Ohere’s victory and declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduagan as winner of the Kogi Central Senate election that was held in February this year.
It was a hard-fought election battle and Natasha had followed this up with a ‘laborious’ legal battle.
The Tribunal which had Justice K. A. Orjiako as its chairman, had ruled that the number of votes Ohere, who was the APC candidate, got were inflated in nine polling stations in Ajaokuta Local Government..
The tribunal had declared Natasha , who was the PDP candidate, as winner of the election having had 54,074 votes, while Ohere got 51,291 votes.
