
Alhaji Dauda Lawal Dare , a former banker, has won the rerun of Zamfara state PDP gubernatorial primary election which was held in Gusau on Friday.
It will be recalled that a Federal High Court had nine days ago, nullified the primary election that produced Dare as the party’s guber candidate.
In the rerun held on Friday, 431 delegates from the 147 wards in the state converged on Gusau, the state capital, to participate in rerun of the guber primary.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned there was a heavy security presence at the secretariat of the party in Gusau where the rerun primary election was held.
The chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Senator Hassan Felix Hyat, announced Lawal Dare as winner of the election after getting 422 votes while Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Gusau and Hafiz Nahuche, his co-contestants, had one vote each.
Alhaji Wadatau Madawaki, had earlier backed out of the guber race and announced that he was endorsing Dare and promised to support his candidacy to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
