Comrade Musibau Esinrogunjo is fast becoming the man of the moment when it comes to ‘Kwara politics’.
The chap, who was popular among those involved in student unionism before venturing into politics, once again, made news on Monday ,31st of October by resigning from his position as Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq’s Senior Special Assistant on Rural Mobilization.
Esinrogunjo, who played a leading role in the Otoge movement , was one of those that made the previous administration enter the bad books of the people through radio programmes and other activities.
He however had it rough right from the beginning of the AbdulRazaq administration apparently because of individual differences.
Esinrogunjo had gotten off to a bad start by going physical with DSS officials during the inauguration ceremony of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq at the Metropolitan Square, Ilorin in 2019.
He was however made a member of the Environmental Task Force adhoc committee which also had Ibrahim Akaje, Yinka Bello, Oloyin Lateef Adebayo, AbdulRazak Jiddah, Kayode Oyin Zubair and Obasanjo Alashi as members.
Esinrogunjo was also in the spotlight in May 2020 following his questioning by the police over a leaked video where he allegedly threatened to kill the governor.
Governor Abdulrazaq appointed him as Senior Special Assistant on Rural Mobilization in October 2021 and he had since called it quit exactly one year after his appointment.
Esinrogunjo had a few days ago, enacted a scene that had himself, the Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi and former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki as dramatis personae.
Esinrogunjo and a group of supporters had welcomed Saraki to Ilorin and the former Senate President had stopped off at his office near the Geri Alimi underpass.
Within minutes after Saraki’s departure, Alabi ran post-haste to Esinrogunjo’s office to hold a meeting with him and a video where he was complaining that he had not gained anything from the government and had therefore been instructed by his parents to resign from his position while the Deputy Governor was busy pacifying him had surfaced online on the same day.
While rumours of possible defection had swirled around the chap, who is in his early 40s , nothing was heard from him since then until his resignation letter went viral on Monday.
Sources told Team@orientactualmags.com that if Esinrogunjo, who had been named among those to serve on the committee set up to canvass votes for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, eventually says ‘To your tents, O Israel‘ to the APC, he may join the SDP or the PDP.
He will be joining others to work against the governor’s re-election bid.
Mr Mohammed Abubakar Seko, who was Governor Abdulrazaq’s Senior Special Assistant on Poverty Alleviation, had also resigned from his position last month- -Team@orientactualmags.com
