Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Mr. Sunday Ndidi, father of the Captain of Super Eagles Wilfred Ndidi, who reportedly died in a car crash.
In a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Tuesday, Chief Agu-Ejidike described the passing of Mr Sunday Ndidi as painful, irreparable, and profoundly heartbreaking, noting that the death of a parent is a burden that no child is ever truly prepared to bear.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to Wilfred Ndidi, his immediate family, and the loved ones, describing the late Mr. Sunday Ndidi as a gallant soldier who served Nigeria with honour, discipline, and sacrifice.
‘This is a moment of deep grief for Wilfred Ndidi and his family. Losing a father is losing one’s first shield, one’s earliest pillar of strength. Mr. Sunday Ndidi lived an exemplary life and his service to our nation, legacy of duty and sacrifice will not be forgotten’ Chief Agu-Ejidike said.
The renowned sports philanthropist prayed for the repose of the soul of Mr Sunday Ndidi while asking God to grant him eternal rest and comfort the Ndidi family during this period of mourning.
‘We pray that the Almighty grants Wilfred Ndidi the fortitude to bear this painful loss, and that the soul of his father finds eternal peace. The entire Nigerian sporting community stands with him at this trying time’ he said.
