Al-Kadriyar Family : PDP Calls For Direct Involvement Of Kwara Govt In ‘Rescue Effort’
Kwara state PDP on Saturday called for direct involvement of the state government in efforts to ensure that the kidnapped members of Al-Kadriyar family regain their freedom.
Members of the Al-Kadriyar family , who were abducted in Abuja a few days ago, are from Ajikobi ward, Ilorin West Local Government, Kwara state.
The party expressed deep concern and grief over ‘the horrifying situation surrounding the Al-Kadriyar family from Ajikobi ward, Ilorin West Local Government’ adding that ‘we were distressed to learn that one of the abducted young women has been gruesomely murdered by the kidnappers due to their inability to pay the sixty million naira (N60,000,000) that was demanded as ransom which is an exorbitant sum ’.
The state PDP in a statement issued in Ilorin on Saturday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara urged Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to expedite action and ensure the swift rescue of the ‘remaining innocent children still held captive’.
.
The party alleged that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq , and other government officials in the state were contacted by the Al-Kadriyar family, but nothing was done while also alleging that ‘there has been a conspicuous lack of solidarity or proactive steps from Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Senator representing Kwara Central, and the representative of Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives’.
‘The Al-Kadriyar family came under a brutal attack at their residence in Abuja, resulting in the untimely death of Alhaji Mansoor’s younger brother, Abdulfatai, who bravely attempted to rescue his brother. The kidnappers, in a heart-wrenching display, have demanded a hefty ransom and they have already killed Nabeeha Al-Kadriya, a 200-level University student, with a chilling threat of more harm to the remaining children if the ransom is not paid.
We find it appalling and, indeed, morally reprehensible for Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to shirk his responsibilities by leaving the burden of sourcing N60,000,000 on the already distressed father’ the party said.
While stating that the party stands in solidarity with the Al-Kadriyar family during this difficult time and called for swift and decisive action from the government to ensure the safe return of the remaining children, the PDP added that the state government has the resources and the duty to protect the lives of its citizens, including going the extra mile to support the family and ensuring that the children in captivity regain their freedom unhurt-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
