Alaafin Of Oyo Blames Social Media Users For Rumoured Feud With Ooni Ogunwusi

Alaafin Of Oyo Blames Social Media Users For Rumoured Feud With Ooni Ogunwusi

Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade has reacted to the ‘purported’ growing rift between him and the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi submitting that nothing like that ever existed while blaming social media users in the country for starting and promoting the rumour in question.

The rumour which started when a video surfaced online in which the Alaafin did not stand up to greet the Ooni at an event, got revved up when the Oyo monarch visited Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi at his palace in Iwo a few days ago.

There is no love lost between the Ooni of Ife and ‘Alaafin of Iwo’, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi.

Oba Owoade has however explained that he had planned to visit Ooni Ogunwusi but could not do so because the Ife monarch had traveled out of the country.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that he said this during his visit to Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hameed Adekunle Makama Oyelude Tegbosun III at his palace in Kuta, a few days ago.

Kuta is in Aiyedire local government, Osun State.

‘It is not something that someone can keep secret.  Before I came up with the detailed plan for my journey and the places to visit, one of the monarchs I had in mind to visit is Oonirisa and some days ago, I spoke with my Personal Assistant and Chief of Staff and asked them  to choose the date that we will visit him and they have called his Personal Assistant in respect of this.

They were told that he has gone to Kazakhstan, so, it is the people that did not know what has happened that are saying rubbish on social media platforms.

There is no rift between me and Oonirisa, we have never quarreled.

There was even a time I was with the Soun of Ogbomoso, we were talking and he called kabiesi and he passed the phone to me and I greeted him.

There is no rift between us, it is the people online that are saying all forms of things’ he said.

Giving his speech, Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hameed Adekunle Makama Oyelude emphasized the need for unity among monarchs in Yoruba land in order to advance the growth and progress of the region.

He also noted that Ooni and Alaafin are the top two traditional rulers in Yorubaland-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
