Allegations That Oyetola, Omisore, Others Are Plotting Violence ‘Untrue’, ’Mere Fabrication’ —Osun APC

Osun state  APC has described as ‘untrue’, the   allegations leveled against   immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and  the National Secretary of the party,  former Senator Iyiola Omisore  that they were planning  to disrupt  the house of assembly election scheduled to hold  in the state tomorrow.

The party has  described the allegations as ‘a mere conjecture fabricated by the apparently confused PDP handlers in order to sell a dummy to the security agencies’.

 Acting State APC  Chairman , Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement  made available  to Team@orientactualmags.com by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi also accused the PDP of promoting half-truths.

‘It is shameful that it is the same PDP that has secured the order of the Federal High Court, Osogbo to restrain the police from inviting, arresting and detaining the political thugs that they have fraudulently portrayed as  leaders of their party ahead of tomorrow’s elections.

Assuming without conceding that Oyetola and Omisore held a meeting on the fortunes of their party, when has it become illegal for two leaders of the leading political party in the state to meet? 

The allegation is a load of bunkum characterized by the figment of the imagination of its peddlers.

The allegation does not hold water as it would be recalled that it is this visionless and rudderless Osun State PDP leadership that had reported on  social media about two weeks ago that Oyetola and Omisore had become sworn enemies’ the statement said.

APC also noted that the party was not unaware  that the state PDP  had taken steps  to  allegedly deploy fake soldiers and police ‘to harass, arrest, maim and kill our members and supporters’.

‘The police should be in the know of the fact that the Osun State chapter of the PDP is accusing the APC of what the ruling party is planning to do tomorrow.

The  accusations  made against  Oyetola and Omisore should be consigned to the thrash can as it lacks substance, truth and it is misplaced and diversionary’ the party also submitted.

In separate statement, spokesman for  Alhaji  Adegboyega Oyetola,  Mr Ismail Omipidan, has also  described the claim by the Osun Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that a certain meeting was held at the Tinubu/ Shettima campaign office on Thursday  during which the attendees plotted to  attack members of the  state PDP as not only outlandish but bogus. 

.’The first reaction was to ignore Dr. Adekunle and his co-travelers. But coming from the PDP at this critical time in our history, I am compelled to put the record straight.

I have always said that some of the Osun PDP leaders and their handlers are liars. They strive on propaganda and cheap blackmail.

A simple tracking of the immediate past Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola itinerary would make their lies and claims fall flat on their face.

For the record, Oyetola was nowhere near the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office yesterday. Therefore, the PDP should provide another venue for the imaginary meeting purported to have been held on Thursday by Oyetola and the party’s National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, where the purported plot to allegedly attack them was hatched. That is one.

Two, from the morning of Thursday, until about 8pm when Oyetola returned to Osogbo, he was busy canvassing for support for the APC candidates ahead of tomorrow’s election. The tour took him to Gbongan in Ayedade Local Government Area; Garage Olode in Ife-South Local Government Area; Ilesa in Ilesa-West and Ilesa-East Local Government Areas, where he was warmly received by the party’s loyalists and supporters.

Incidentally, he got to Ilesa, around Brewery area at 5.21pm, and he did not leave Ilesa until about 8pm. Is it possible for the same person to be holding meeting in Osogbo from 6.30pm? Upon his arrival in Osogbo, he made straight for the residence of the former Deputy Governor of the State, Mrs. Grace Laoye-Ponle, where he met with party stakeholders from Osogbo and Olorunda Local Governments. It was from there that he participated in a Special Radio Interview session which was simultaneously broadcast by five different Radio Stations. And the programme came to a close at 9pm. Oyetola retired to his country home in Iragbiji afterwards without stepping his feet on the premises of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office on Thursday. 

So, pray, where did this imaginary meeting take place? I am ashamed on behalf of the PDP chairman that with his level of education, he could append his signature to a statement he knew every material content in it was false.

These same elements were behind a false police public announcement, earlier today. I implore journalists to always be circumspect whenever they see anything from the PDP. They are just afraid of their shadows. What they are planning, which had since been busted, is what they are now accusing Oyetola and Omisore of’ he  submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com
