Alleged Anti-Party Activities: Provide Supporting Evidence If You Want Wike Punished-PDP NWC Member
Although a disciplinary committee has been set up by the PDP to investigate and address matters that have to do with misconduct on the part of party members, no action has however been taken against anyone because no one has submitted petition to the party, Mr. Okechukwu Osuoha, who is the Deputy National Legal Adviser, has submitted.
He also added that allegations raised against Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike that he has engaged in anti-party activities cannot be taken seriously unless a formal petition is submitted with supporting evidence.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Osuoha, who said this while talking to journalists in Abuja on Monday, also noted that while the party’s National Executive Committee had set up a disciplinary committee headed Chief Tom Ikimi, with Eyitayo Jegede as secretary, no member has been made to face a ‘disciplinary hearing’ to date.
‘People often ask me specifically about the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike — why don’t we discipline him? Why don’t we take action? I tell them: It is not enough to merely say someone has committed an offence’ he said.
Mr. Okechukwu Osuoha emphasised that anyone accusing a party member must file a formal petition and be ready to testify and present evidence in the presence of the person involved.
‘When that petition is written and presented, the petitioner must also be ready to come and testify. If the person accused is invited, you must come with your evidence.
This is the same problem with our wider Nigerian system. It is not just about pointing out anomalies; the challenge is following them up to a conclusion’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
