Alleged Corruption: ICPC Arrests Top NSCDC Officer In Abuja

Adam Yusuf, a top Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer, has been arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
He will be facing corruption charges.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that spokesperson for ICPC, Demola Bakare, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, said Yusuf, who had been elusive, was eventually apprehended at his residence in Gwagwalada, Abuja.
The commission, Bakare added, uncovered a sophisticated scheme allegedly orchestrated by a former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin, and retired Brigadier General Ishaya Bauka Gangum.
The scheme reportedly involved the illegal diversion of over N3 billion in public funds through 92 fictitious companies.

‘Investigations by the ICPC uncovered a sophisticated scheme allegedly masterminded by former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin and retired Brigadier General Ishaya Bauka Gangum.
The scheme reportedly involved the illegal diversion of over N3 billion in public funds through 92 fictitious companies, none of which were registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
Further investigations led authorities to trace the laundered funds to companies such as Lahab Integrated and Gate Coast Properties, among others. The illicit proceeds were allegedly used to acquire over 18 properties, including multiple filling stations.
So far, four of these properties have been forfeited to the government, while legal proceedings are ongoing regarding the rest.
