Anambra Govt To Bianca Ojukwu: Your New Chieftaincy Title Is ‘K-legged’, Fake

Anambra State Government has told Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu that the chieftaincy title she recently got through a traditional ruler in Awka is not only fake but ‘k-legged’.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the state government made the clarification in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Tony Collins Nwabunwanne while submitting that the chieftaincy title ‘Anyanwu N’Awalu Ora’ which she had gotten through Chief Austin Chukwuezugo Ndigwe is ‘fake’ and ‘illegal’.

The state government said only traditional rulers that are officially recognized by the state government can honour people with chieftaincy titles while noting that the minister ought to know that the person who honoured her with chieftaincy title lacks the right to do so.

‘The authentic traditional ruler of Awka, HRH Gibson Nwabueze Nwosu (Eze Uzu II), currently holds official recognition from the government.

The minister had previously attended Chief Ndigwe’s birthday celebration, during which the governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo publicly warned the chief against impersonating the Awka traditional ruler.

By purporting to confer a chieftaincy title, Mr. Ndigwe usurped the ceremonial functions of the bona fide Traditional Ruler of Awka—HRH Gibson Nwosu—and this is totally unacceptable’ the statement said.

The state government noted that the chieftaincy title in question is neither recognized under Anambra law nor the cultural tradition and the minister should therefore stop using it.

The Governor Soludo administration, he added, will continue to uphold respect for law, order, and cultural institutions while warning that attempts to subvert traditional authority will not be tolerated.

The statement affirmed the state government’s commitment to protecting Anambra’s cultural heritage and collective social values-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
